Perfect for a romantic, indulgent and relaxing break, The Old Stores, Bread Oven Cottage and Inglenooks are all delightful, early 18th Century cottages, all part of the main house. One originally the village store, the other a former bakehouse and another which is a pretty cottage style ground floor apartment having been tastefully renovated to provide quality accommodation with many original features.

All our cottages are self-catering and have the luxury of their own gardens and private hot tubs which are hot all year round.

The Old Stores

Cottage Description
The Old Stores is a delightful studio style cottage, formerly the village store, steeped in history and character. The main split level room has a vaulted ceiling with a super king size four poster bed, comfy sofa, a large screen LCD HD television with theatre surround sound system and log effect fire. The former fruit store is now the bathroom and has a roll top slipper bath with an overhead shower. The former vinegar store is now a compact fully fitted kitchen. French doors open to the front garden that leads to a private patio area that fills with the evening sun.

Packing tip – bring walking boots, the nearby forest is too beautiful to miss!

Bread Oven Cottage

A cosy cottage formerly used as a bakery, attached but independent to the main house with a living kitchen featuring the original old bread oven, original beams, a soft comfy sofa and log effect fire. The spacious bedroom has a king size bed, beautiful en-suite bathroom with a double ended roll top bath and separate shower.
Complete with a secluded patio area with BBQ and the indulgent luxury of it’s own private hot tub.

Packing Tip - Bring your swimming costume for the relaxing hot tub and a bucket and spade for a trip to the lovely suffolk coast, just over an hour away!

Inglenooks, has two magnificent inglenook fireplaces, one in the living/dining room and one in the bedroom, which can be lit on colder nights. The bed is a super king size four poster. There is a shower room with a separate wc. The kitchen is fully equipped. Part of the 300 year old main house but completely independent, this freshly refurbished ground floor apartment style cottage has a private garden with its own hot tub.

Packing Tip - Bring your binoculars, we are not far from the RSPB centre in Lakenheath which is the home of the rare Golden Oriole, there are only 2-5 breeding pairs in the UK.

The kitchenette has a sink, hob (no oven), microwave, small fridge and kettle. Lounge area has a feature fire, flat screen tv and paddock view.

Packing Tip - Dont forget your fishing rod, fish the pretty River Lark at our local pub, all it will cost is a pint!

Built in 1724, The Walnuts combines enchanting comforts and period charm. Since 1860 the front part of the house was used as the local village store for around 100 years and has been quoted as being an ‘emporium of lovely things’. This wonderful description has been the inspiration for the design of the accommodation.
